Kelley, Lizanne M. , 51, a former longtime resident of Millis, died on Friday, May 8, 2009, surrounded by family and friends at her Medway home.

Born in Boston, she was a daughter of Jeanne Marie (Miller) Kelley of Bay Harbor Islands, FL, and the late Arthur F. Kelley. She was a 1975 graduate of Needham High School and continued her education at Massachusetts Bay Community College.

Liz was employed as the director of marketing for OmniComm Systems of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and had previously held a similar position with Phase Forward of Waltham. She had also worked as head of catering sales for the Inn at Longwood in Boston. She had been an enthusiastic volunteer with Hospitality Homes, helping to find housing for families of hospital patients.

Fond of travel and summering on Cape Cod or in York, Maine, Liz also enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was kind, generous, loved to sing and dance, had a great sense of humor, and relished her role as a mother.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Georgia Marie Kelley of Medway, a sister, Carol A. Pacheco and husband Ronald of Dedham, a brother, Brian A. “Bud” Kelley of Mansfield, and many extended family members and close friends.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 82 Exchange Street, Millis, on Friday, May 15th at 10:00a.m. Burial will be private.

Visiting hours will be held at the Roberts-Mitchell Funeral Home, 90 Curve Street, Millis, Thursday, 7 - 9p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Liz’s memory to the Friends of Liz and Georgia Kelley Fund, Milford Federal Savings and Loan, 246 Main St., Milford, MA 01757.

We lost the person, but not the relationship. Liz will always be a part of me. I thank God for every moment we shared. I thank Liz for helping me to learn to take life a little less seriously. She loved to laugh and smile. She loved music, Moonstruck, Jimmy Cagney, Motown, the Far Side and Funny Bones. I love my Liz!! To my Aunt Jean, my cousins Carol and Brian and Georgia, stay close and be kind to yourselves. I love you, Kerry.

In remembering Liz I think about the car rides with Georgia, Amy, and Kelly and driving back to Millis. Bonnie Raitt on the cassette tape and Liz singing along. She had a spark for life, a love her for daughter, and love for her family, her best friends.

May she always be warm in your hearts and live on through your beautiful smiles. All my love, Celia.

Liz my cousin I will miss you dearly. I will miss your nose scrunching when you smiled, your laugh and your singing "Mac the Knife" like you were up on stage. Georgia, hold tight to all your memories, let them carry you along with the knowledge of how very much she loved you- you both shared such a very visible bond ( my memory takes me to your mother calling you midge. "midge and I are going down to the bay" when you were little down the Cape. Most recently your graduation party , "my girl". She was and is still so filled with pride for you and all you have accomplished. Chin up but remember its ok to lean on those around you. Jeanne, Carol, Bri, Ron and the girls- I am so sorry for your loss of your daughter, sister, aunt. I can't even begin to imagine your sorrow but know that Liz is sitting up in heaven with Arch having a drink figuring out a way to let you know she is ok. We love you all. Kelly

There are rare moments in life when you realize you have lost something very special and dear to your heart. This is one of them. Liz, we will miss you so much but we will never forget how special your friendship made our lives. Best friends don’t come around very often but when you and Georgia became part of our lives we knew you were the very best friends anyone could ask for. We will cherish the memories of all the fun times we had and look to forward to that day when we can be together again. In the meantime we will continue to cherish your presence in Georgia, Jeanne, Carol, and Brian and never forget all the great times we had together.

Cheryl Duffy (cherylduffy151@hotmail.com):
Although I had known Liz for 20 years, to my sadness it was only in these last 2 months that I got to know her well. She always impressed me as a joyful happy person full of determination and spirit with an undeniable love for her daughter. In these final weeks I realized just how amazingly strong and gifted she was. She had the ability to make everyone around her smile. Not only family and friends but nurses, doctors and technicians. She put aside her pain and suffering to make others feel at ease who were caring for her. The day before she passed she still smiled at an attempt at a lame joke! I will forever keep her in my heart and feel so honored to have been part of her life.
One of my favorite Liz moments is of looking into her beautiful blue eyes, watching her smile while wearing her leopard print slippers and her saying to her nurse, "A girl's gotta look pretty!"
