Mailing, Donald P. , age 62, a 21 year resident of Medway, died on Tuesday afternoon, August 11, 2009, at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham.

Born in Milford on July 20, 1947, he was a son of the late Donald B. Mailing and Ruth I. Erler. Donald was a member of the Medfield High School class of 1965. He then served as a specialist with the U. S. Army.

Donald worked in construction for 35 years with S.E. Luttazi and Sons of Dover and for the past 6 years has been employed by the Town of Medway as a heavy equipment operator. A past commander of the American Legion Beckwith Post 110 in Medfield, he was also an enthusiastic Red Sox fan. He was particularly known to enjoy a good John Wayne war movie.

He is survived by his wife, Deirdre M. (Owen) Mailing; three sons, Donald K. Mailing and wife Stephanie Wachewski of North Brookfield, Robert P. Mailing and wife Deborah of Milford, and David J. Mailing of Medway; three grandchildren, Joseph Avery, Brady Philip, and Mackenzie E. Mailing; his sister, Donna Lee Machon of North Carolina; his twin, Ronald E. Mailing of Florida and brother Paul R. Mailing of North Carolina.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, 151 Village Street, Medway, Monday, Aug. 17th at 10:00a.m. Military honors will follow.

Visiting hours will be at the Roberts-Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Miller Street, Medfield, Sunday 2 – 5p.m.

Those wishing may make donations in Donald’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701-9376.
