Born in Charlestown of January 2, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Gertrude (Witham) Regan Riley and James J. Regan. Her early life was spent in Lynn and her family moved to Medfield when she was a teen. She graduated from Medfield High School and was employed for several years as a health aide at the Medfield State Hospital. Theresa married in 1947 and made her home in Medfield and Roxbury prior to settling in Millis twelve years later. She devoted herself to the care of her young family while her husband was away serving with the U.S. Navy and is most remembered as a doting mother and grandmother. Theresa particularly enjoyed cooking, entertaining friends and family, and hosting holiday events. Predeceased by her sons Thomas and Ronald and her grandson John, she is survived by her husband, Francis J. “Sal” Saleda; her daughter, Debra (Chuck) Carlson of Ashland; three sons, Robert F. Saleda of Georgia, James J. (Tonya) Saleda of CA, and John A. (Marianne) Saleda of Dedham; her brother, Donald P. (Kathy) Regan of Walpole; eleven grandchildren, Andrea, Mary, Theresa, Michael, Andrew, Elizabeth, Bryan, James, Emily, Michael, and Kate; and eight great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Thomas the Apostle Church, 82 Exchange Street, Millis, on Friday, Sept. 11th at 10:00a.m. Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery. Visiting hours will be at the Roberts-Mitchell Funeral Home, 90 Curve Street, Thursday 4 – 7p.m. If desired, donations may be made in Theresa’s memory to the Ashland Ambulance Fund, 70 Cedar Street, Ashland, MA 01721. |
