Kubacki, John
, age 69, a lifelong resident of Millis, died early Wednesday morning, October 21, 2009, at Milford Regional Medical Center.
Born at home in Rockville on March 22, 1940, he was a son of the late Alexander and Anne (Walsh) Kubacki. He was a graduate of the Millis Schools and was employed with the Millis DPW prior to entering the Navy during the Vietnam War. He served with the Seabees from 1961 until 1965.
John served with the Millis Police Department for several years prior to working as a heavy equipment operator with S.M. LoRusso and Sons for over thirty years. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Millis Fire Department for thirty-plus years and had served for eighteen years as Millis Town Constable. John was a life member of the Millis American Legion Post 208, the Millis Amvets Post 495, and the Boggastow Fish and Game Club. He most enjoyed working with the fire department, fishing, and following the New England Patriots, a team he followed from its inception.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Helen (Johnson) Kubacki; a daughter, Kimberly Jean McManus and her husband Edward of Londonderry, NH; two sons, Keith N. Kubacki and his wife Jean Callahan of Millis and John “Kubby” Kubacki, Jr. and his partner Peggy Santos of Millis; four grandchildren, Anjelica, Janisha, Sean, and Kody Kubacki; two sisters, Margaret Ozella and her husband Vincent of Milford and Patricia Johnson of Hopedale; his mother-in-law, Helen Burpee of Millis, and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Alex Kubacki and Helen Fuzy.
His funeral service will be held at the Church of Christ, 142 Exchange Street, Millis, on Monday, Oct. 26th at 2:00p.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be at the Roberts-Mitchell Funeral Home, 90 Curve Street, Millis, on Sunday 2 – 6p.m.
